At 2,468 Ft Pumlumon pronounced “Pimlimmon” which means “Five Peaks” – is the highest summit in the Cambrian Mountains of Mid-Wales and dominates the countryside north east of Aberystwyth. Two rivers, the Rheidol and the Ystwyth, descend from these mountains through dramatic and varied scenery to the coast at Aberystwyth, while a third, the Teifi, heads south towards Cardigan (Aberteifi). For those who would like to climb the summit the best starting point is from Eisteddfa Gurig, 15 miles away on the A44 East from Aberystwyth. |

During recent years much work has been undertaken to open the coastal path. Northwards from Abersytwyth one can walk without any deviation along the coastline all the way through Clarach Wallog, and Borth to Ynyslas where the river Dyfi meets with the sea.
Southwards one can walk down through Tanybwlch to Morfa Bychan in the south. It is anticipated that current work on the costal path will open up even more sections south of Aberystwyth, potentially enabling the entire coastline from Ynyslas in the north to Cardigan in the south to be walked without obstacle. |
